Aerobility

Aerobility is a registered charity founded in 1993 offering disabled people, without exception, the opportunity to fly an aeroplane.
For some, just that amazing first flight is enough to change their outlook on disability forever:

"If I can fly a plane, what else can I do?”

Others, realising that the fantasy of flight is truly in their grasp, decide to continue their training - many all the way to securing a Private Pilot's Licence, some even with an outlook to commercial flying.
Aerobility provides 'experience of a lifetime' trial flying lessons for as many terminally ill and disabled people as possible every year, also subsidised flying days for other disability charities and at-cost instruction and qualification flight training to disabled people.

Project Able

Project Able is a charitable endeavour which is returning a number of retired training and recreational aircraft to flight.
Grob 109b motor gliders used to train thousands of Air Cadets are being modernised and getting a new lease of life.

A number of the aircraft are being adapted to enable disabled people to fly them, as part of Aerobility’s continued development.

Aerobility is a charity that, through exposure to aviation, seeks to improve the lives of people with all kinds of disabilities including physical impairments, learning difficulties, mental health conditions & sensory impairments Aerobility has acquired the decommissioned Vigilant Motor Glider fleet from the UK Ministry of Defence.

This project will allow Aerobility to expand its operation and enhance about 1,600 more lives every year from its headquarters at Blackbushe Airport in Hampshire and Tatenhill in Staffordshire, as well as supporting expansion to additional locations throughout the UK.

The aircraft which aren’t used by Aerobility themselves will be refurbished and sold to generate revenue for the charity, in order to pay for progressive refurbishments and the ongoing running costs of their operational aircraft.
